Survey: Teachers wary of bringing social media into classrooms- Nick Meyer

Since technology is becoming such a big part of our life, some people think teachers should start integrating different forms of it into everyday school work, such as social media.  The teachers in this article say there is some benefit to allowing students to use social media, but the risks outweigh the advantages.  Although I am not an education major anymore, I one was and I never liked the thought of using social media in the classroom.  I just think high school kids are more concerned with messaging each other and liking photos than they are about learning school subjects.

  1. There many teachers that use social media in the classroom in a positive way. I believe that it all about how teachers incorporate social media in the classroom. Teachers have to find beneficial ways to make the experience meaningful. I agree, teens are more interested in pictures and the latest gossip, however it up to teachers and parents to teach children appropriate ways to use social media.
