The article above talks about how financial institutions have been missing the boat when it comes to social media. Marketing is all about building relationships with potential customers and what better way to do that then to connect with them through social media. The article does say that they expect a lot of the revenue to come through social media by 2018, which tells me that social media is going to get even bigger in the next few years.

  1. This is interesting that this institution is basically relying on social media growing but they do not seem to want to do the work to get their work out there. Instead they are really just hoping things turn out good for them. Everyone knows that social media will grow but I do not think anyone can "bank" on it growing in a hugely positive way in three years.
