Apple's presence on social media is quite strange. Apple is such a huge presence in the market, but they basically do not do any social media advertising. Virtually everyone knows of Apple, and they are a strong competitor in computer industry. A company that has a large part of its marketing strategy based on what's "cool" could completely change the current marketing strategy. Could another company not do social media and be top? Is Apple the only one? The article discussed that other businesses would basically die if they did not do social media. Could they though? I think that the reason Apple doesn't need to advertise on social media is because it has so much demand from consumers. They don't have a large problem getting and keeping customers. Their products are so good that customers come back for more. So a company that could not use social media much like Apple would need a strong presence. They would need not a lot of competition. Since we live in a free market, the odds of a competitor not existing are quite slim. A company with a completely new concept could do the same as Apple, but I don't think it will be soon.
