Social Media Can Promote Loneliness (Article #2)
Social media is usually promoted as a way to promote happiness and connect with people. This article talks about how social media can promote loneliness. It argues that when a person moves and still connected to people through social media, but it was not through direct face to face contact can be very lonely. The fact that a person isn't there to provide support by childcare or a hug can be very hard on the distant between the two that social media cannot cure. This shows the negative effect that social media has on the public as it brings in the reality that social media can bring in distance when it is normally promoted as bringing people together.

I love this article. No matter how many friends you have, posts or likes nothing can take the place of the personal connection. You can sit at your keyboard all night long reading posts but you can't really know that person until you meet them face to face. Asking for help looses empathy when you are reading block lettering on a screen.
