Ashley Parrish article #2

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/03/04/facebook-tips_n_4858343.html

In a student's blog that I just got done reading, I had to disagree with her a little bit.  It was just my thoughts and my opinions about things that I don't like about Facebook, so that got me to thinking.  I looked at a few articles and decided on the one above.  If you are like me and get annoyed with some people, or don't like seeing their disgusting posts all the time, then this article is for you.  It gives you 13 tips to make those "annoying" posts go away and other options as well.  Now, don't get me wrong, I do enjoy a good gossip story, or to check out the drama around town, but there are some things that I just don't need to see on my news feed.

  1. I'm commenting on this because I find it interesting that people try to reduce the amount of information they are exposed to on social media or trim it down to what they consider "relevant". If I would block "friends" or customize my news feed on Facebook, I would be left with only my friends that I usually end up hanging out with all the time. This would be boring as I already know most of what is going on in their lives. I personally like to not customize my news feed so I get exposed to many different views of the world, not just what people like me think. Granted I don't agree with most of what is posted or just scroll on by, but I still notice it.
