Traysea Gilmore Module 3 Blog Post 2

This article talks about Australians specifically but I think that there are a lot of similarities here. The psychology interviewed for this article said that people use social media because it's time efficient. She makes the point that these conversations are lacking proper depth and that relationships are changing. I'm especially guilty of just sending a text instead of calling someone. It is important to realize that more effort needs to be put into relationships when it comes to communicating.

  1. I think that the reason why I liked this article much is because it is so truthful. We would rather send a 10 word text message or Facebook message rather than talk to someone face-to-face or call them. It has always surprised me how far we are o our technology with out us even realizing it! Putting us in an imaginary situation here, how many times are we having an important conversation with someone and we still find ourselves looking at our phones, usually on Facebook, twitter, etc. We have forgotten how important it is for us to get to know each other on a personal level, people will understand us more than technology will, because technology doesn't have the emotions that we as humans do!
