Chris Fakkema: Module 1: Blog 3
I found this article to be extremely interesting, especially since it pertains to Apple, a leading technological company. This article explains how Apple (as a company), has a well thought-out strategy when it comes to social media, yet refrains from using social media applications, such as Facebook and Twitter. Of course Apple's CEO has social media accounts with numerous followers, but the actual brand does not, and will not. Apple seems to be getting along very well with their current marketing strategy, possibly or simply, because of the world-renowned brand name. I think that this article is relevant to studying social media, because not all major players in technology resort to the same marketing strategies. A significant company like Apple, who constantly thinks outside of the box, even encourages other companies not to follow suit, when it comes to their marketing strategies.

Chris, I find it very interesting that the company does not have a relation with social media! Did they give a reason at all for this? I have been completing different reasons why they don't want to be apart of social media! This is neat to see what other companies thought and practices are about social media and how they use them. This article really leads me through so many different thought and ideas! Thanks for sharing!!
