This article talks about social media and the positives that it can have on politics. There have been several instances of politicians messing up on social media, but across the world, social media platforms such as Twitter have become a helpful tool for politics. In Spain, social media has been useful to help citizens communicate with the government. Street repairs are being reported through Twitter and allow repairs to happen quicker than they were before. In fact, they have put up a Twitter logo as a monument because it has made such an impact to their community.
I have posted several articles about the positives of social media. This article incorporates politics into this idea. It can be used as an easy middle man between the government and the people. However, as the article also states, there is a concern for unreliable tweets.
Wow! This is the third of four articles that I have read today that are about politics and social media. I've been taking a route more closely related to how relationships are impacted by social media. I really appreciate how this sheds some light on how social media can help important tasks like repairing roads get done quicker. I think that is a really important task in today's political world. It's great to see Twitter having such a big and important impact on the lives of citizens for once.
