In this article it talks about how social media sites have ruined relationships. With having everything at the the touch of a button people get too attached to social media. They may always focus on trying to make themselves look good or cool from posting tweets or pictures. The article also talks about how much we focus on our phones when we are with others, even when we are with the main people we would be using our phone to talk to we still need to check our phones for new updates or see what others are doing. This has made our main focus to just whats going on in social media accounts instead of what is right in front of us, which is why relationships have been ruined due to social media.

I think this article was very interesting also, Alex. I myself catch myself looking at my phone when I know it is very unnecessary and probably quite annoying to others around me. I think it is disrespectful to be on our phones all the time, especially if we are having a one on one conversation with someone. We should live more in the moment, rather than online.
ReplyDeleteI found this article to be about spot on with the information it was providing. I notice often times that when you walk into a classroom most people are sitting on their phones either texting, looking through social media, or playing games. They could be interacting with the people around them and having a conversation, but instead would rather act like each other aren't there and just pay attention to their phones. I have also noticed while out to eat sometimes both people are sitting on their phones up until their food comes and barely speak to each other. Overall, I think that social media is definitely putting a strain on the relationship and communication people have with each other.
