Tyler Walker Module No. 1 Post No. 2

For my second article, I decided to choose this article, from the New York Times, about the effect of social media on news.  First, the article gives an example of the death of the lion Cecil who was killed by an American hunter. By the middle of August social media was exploding with posts, blogs, and articles about what had happened. The premise of the article uses this example to show how social media takes attention away from the news industry. I feel the made argument of this article is to teach individuals that social media is great, but not everything post on social media is comparable to the news companies. Everything online and in the news needs to be taken with a grain of salt and not just followed without thought.
