Module 3, Post 2

http://bigthink.com/ideafeed/social-media-plays-a-big-role-in-long-distance-relationships

This article talks about how long distance relationships are made easier by the use of social media.  Social media gives couples more platforms to keep in touch, rather than just texting or using the phone.  They can stay updated on each other's lives by watching videos and looking at pictures that they post.  People in long distance relationships use social media more than couples who live close, and it can be a way to "watch" the other person.  Jealousy is reported more frequently because of the use of social media.

  1. I really like how this article explains that the use of social media has helped to make long distance relationships easier, and yeah ill agree that it definitely makes long distance easier to maneuver. However it doesn't explain if it makes them happier. It will be interesting to see if the next study discovers how the happiness of these relationships are with social networking sites. As with most social networking it also explains how people keep tabs on others but it also explains how one becomes jealous of posts.

  2. I really like this article. I have always thought that social media can actually be good for long distance relationships. It helps the couples to keep in touch without having to actually talk 24/7 or wonder what their significant other is doing. They can just look at posts or pictures on social media. I also think that it helps with someone in a long distance relationship keep in touch with their spouses family.
