I may be 22 years old, but I am not that tech savoy at all. It seems every day I am finding something out. What attracted me to this article is the fact that what we might think social media is, is actually changing more then we think. This article lists five trends reshaping social media. Their first one was that Facebook is actually moving toward a more alder demographic. I believe that one, my grandma and grandpa know how to run Facebook better then I do. But they live 8 hours away from any of their grandchild, so they are able to communicate with a few of them that are harder to get in contact with over the phone. The second trend was the future is handheld. Every day their are news apps that are created to make it easier to manage our lives by the 5x5 inch device in our hands. Trend three was social networks are becoming search engines. Some days I find it easier to look for stores or certain little businesses on Facebook then Google. My sister plays volleyball in college and it is easier for me to search her team on Facebook then their own website. Trend four says that politics will play out on social media. Half or seventy-five percent of our politicians are on social media. They are able to reach a greater demographic or the US population thru social media then on national TV. I have no doubt that it is easier to debate or talk through certain issues on social networks. Trend five is big date is used to personalize and culture is king. These days it is all about making the customer have a great time in your store or on your app.
