Lindsie Woolley Module 3 article #2

This article talks about how twitter effects romantic relationships. It states that the more a couple uses twitter and argues publicly over twitter the more likely that they will have more troubles or will break up, divorce, or separate. Personally I believe that when you are fighting with a significant others you should never put anything about it on social media. An unhappy home only attracts outsiders. Also to me it seems that you wouldn't just argue out loud in a very public place or in front of lots of people would you? Well social media is the same thing. This is a public place that everyone can see and read your whole argument or fight. I have never really seen a fight on twitter but I have seen plenty on Facebook that are very cryptic and such. Twitter you would have to be very to the point.

  1. Public arguments can get awkward, and you are totally right in that they attract drama. But would you say that twitter helps end potentially bad relationships because it just gives a platform for inward, and otherwise uncovered, poor relational skills to surface before any legal commitment is made? I do agree with you in that arguments should stay off Facebook and twitter but because we can't really control that, is there a way we can see it in a positive light?
