Lindsie Woolley CSIT 388 Article #3

http://www.csoonline.com/article/2457669/data-protection/10-new-social-media-scams-to-watch-out-for.html

This article talks about scams on social media. It isn't a surprise to anyone that scams go on in social media, but this one startled me. On tinder people are making fake profiles and helping prostitutes. When I think about things like this I think about how my little sister has tinder, and a lot of younger people. This app could be connecting them with some scary strange people and sites. Plus we all know kids aren't always the smartest about not sending in appropriate pictures. Those pictures if sent to a scam artist could end up all over the internet and be sold. Things like this make me wonder how many good people are left in the world. I think these scam artists probably have put more effort into being lazy than if they were to get an honest job.

  1. wow I had no clue that scams went so deep into social media. The popular apps and social mediums that everyone uses could very well be the most popular mediums of scammers as well. Great article choice.

  2. I liked this article a lot. I wish that they would share with younger kids about the risks of being on social media.
