https://www.periscope.tv/

The second social networking website that I found is Periscope. It is actually only offered on android or apple devices at this time, but it is an up and coming social media platform that may eventually be offered on computers as well. I found Periscope to be interesting because it allows you to explore the world by watching and creating live broadcasts.Viewers can also interact with broadcasters in real-time using Hearts and Messages. Periscope is backed by Twitter, so wen you sign in you sign in through your Twitter account which makes the process very easy for users. You do not have to pay to use the app either as it is free in the App Store (I'm not sure if it is for Android devices). For my NPO this could be a useful tool because they can post live videos of what they are doing and how others can get involved. People can also respond and let them know what they think of what they have going on and different ideas that they may have.

  1. I have a buddy who uses this! He often watches his favorite pastor's scope. Its a neat idea, but seems a bit excessive to me, but moderation would be the solution to that. It would be cool to see a scope of an NPO during an event.

  2. I have heard of Periscope and love using it. I like to get on and find random people and just see what they are up to. I also use it when I want to try and watch a live event, like baseball or a boxing match. It is definitely very easy to use because it only take a twitter account. My NPO is the arc of Buffalo County I don't think they would benefit form periscope because I feel like many people that use the Arc would not care to see live broadcast.
