I found a very cool social media platform called Flickr. Flickr was founded in 2002 by Ludicorp. Flickr is a way to share pictures with friends and family. This sounds a lot like Instagram to me though, which could be a reason that they aren't as known as other sites. Some basic information that Flickr puts out about itself is that they are a way to organize and share photos with people who matter to that person. I think that this is a cool idea as it just is another way to connect with people.
I have heard of a few of my that have flickr, all I have have to add about it is that is not as notable as other photo sharing networks.I think that this would be a neat thing for NPO's that have a lot of fun activities for families and children. I wonder if it will catch on in the near future, I just don't know if they have a certain "thing" or "quality" that makes them special!
ReplyDeleteFlickr would be an interesting site to promote a non-profit organization, however I can see how organizations are not using it. With Instagram you can share photos with your network, and use it to spread the word; therefore I understand why people would not think to use Flickr. Although Instagram takes the main stage, Flickr would definitely be something an organization should research.
