For my second article I chose to do Zorpia. Zorpia is a social network that has a large international community. ReplyDeleteZorpia looks like an interesting social media platform, that enables users to make acquaintances locally, or half way around the world. An interesting fact that I noticed about the platform is that it has permission to operate in China. Not very many social media platforms are able to operate in China, so it has a benefit that not even Facebook can match. Not sure how effective this platform would be for non-profit organizations, as it strictly a people-meeting platform.
Zorpia seems like a very interesting site, but is very similar to alot of others websites. With many social media sites being unavailable in China it is very interesting to me that Zorpia can be used in China. That is what sets Zorpia apart from platfors like Facebook, Which cannot be used in China. I can see Zorpia really taking off in the future because of its availability. If every country, even those within communist internect restrictive countries, is able to use Zorpia it could spread like wild fire. I am very curious to see what the future holds for Zorpia.
