Moderation. Moderation seems to have been thrown out the window decades ago...or was it ever a thing at all? The use of Facebook is something that can be extremely beneficial, if used in moderation. Parents and children were surveyed and the results showed that the students that were friends with their parents on social media actually reported having a stronger relationship with them. The article featured a few religious leaders, and their suggestion was to open communication between parents and kids because Facebook is a great way to keep in touch with their kids and their actives when they aren't together, especially when most of the media being dumped into kids minds these days is garbage and against their parents wisdom. Moderation was the key point to encouraging parents to follow their kids on social media. Unlike my last post which was discussing the relationship from kids to parents over Facebook, this was written for parents to kids and had a much different tone and approach. Comparing the two articles it is clear that there is a disconnect between perceptions on both ends of the relationship, add it to the list of things that parents and their kids need to work on.
