Module 5 Post 1

BBS
When we think of social media we think about Facebook and Twitter primarily. However just like any evolving idea it must start somewhere. These social media platforms most likely would not exist if it were not for the BBS. This prehistoric platform is known as a Bulletin Board System.
As early as the 1980’s people have been using a form of social media. To inform, educate and communicate to users from across the internet, dial-up or Telnet. Basicly the BBS is a computer or applicated that is only designed to share ideas and pictures and such. Sort of like an email system that we have now. The BBS is still used but in more underdeveloped areas with limited internet connection. Once upon a time, in 1078, a BBS was used by the U.S Department of Defense known as the CBBS.
