Above is a link to an article titled How Social Media Ruined Marketing. The article starts off by talking about social media in general and some of sights, such as Twitter and Facebook. The article then goes into talking about how social media ads are lazy. For instance the author talks about how ads are going over the 30 second mark, which I take as companies aren't taking the time to weed out any unnecessary information like they used too. One major aspect from this article that I took away was that companies are trying to read into likes and views too much. This meaning that just because someone liked a post about a company doesn't mean they are going to buy merchandise from that store. I can see what the article is trying to say and I agree with not reading too much into likes and views, but on the other hand getting the company name out there could bring in potential customers. I think this article could be helpful in the class later when social media marketing comes up.
