In my second article it talks about how social media can really influence individuals in a wrong way. I thought this was really interesting because I thought I could relate to it. In the article it talks about how social media can get you to spend more money, change your appetite, independence, self esteem, and real life conversations. I feel like this is very true at least for me. I may see some new clothes or gear that I think I would like and I go and buy it. Social media can be bad with how small things can influence a person to do something that they would not normally do, and keep them from making decisions on their own. Also with people interacting on social media they are not interacting with people face to face, which can hinder them from learning how to have an engaging conversation in person.

Alex,
ReplyDeleteYou make some very interesting points and found a great article. The influence of social media on people can be tragic, as people need to be able to make their own decisions. I also agree with you that it seems like now kids aren't getting the social skills that will be needed in the real world. Having social skills is extremely important because for example when someone goes in for a job interview they need to be able to have an engaging conversation.
