Chris Fakkema, Module 7, Blog #4

This article is very interesting, the author refers to social media and the Internet as a growing lake. According to the article, social media giants like Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, etc., are like speedboats, creating enormous waves in the lake. The waves that these social media giants are producing significant change throughout the lake, and almost nothing stays stagnant.  The Internet is changing on a daily basis, and for the most part, it is due to giant social media platforms. Users of the internet are being forced to adapt to the changes, and as the Internet continues to change, so will the habits of its users.

  1. I like the metaphor being used here. Its funny to think about but it does represent a lake somehow. The big social sites do effect everything else too. As soon as a major big name social networking site makes a change, the other smaller sites make a change similar to it to try to build revenue and gain more people attraction to their site.
