This article talks about Web 3.0 and Google. The gap between our expectations of Google and what they can deliver has been widening for a while now. With the introduction of Web 3.0 it is only going to worsen. The article states that Google is working with several companies to try to improve their search engine. Another big part of Google's downfall is that we are moving more towards apps. I think it would really be a great idea if Google could come up with some sort of app. I am not really sure how it would work but it would definitely help their cause.
I know that on my phone I have the google plus app which tells me the weather and how far I am from work and home. In a small town like Kearney it isn't as useful because I already know how far I am, but in a large city it would be very helpful!
ReplyDeleteThis article was very interesting to me. I never knew that that social media sites like yelp greatly posed as competition to google. Also I had no idea how big of a deal data was in reference to google. I was surprised to see that the more structured data acurred by other search engines the more google becomes irrelivant.
