Colby Wurst - Module #8, Only Post

I learned quite a bit about social media, but a couple of things I didn't know you could do were, cross promote to the extent you can, and just how much social media and politics worked together.
I know being from my generation, the latter shouldn't be a surprise to me, but it was.  I didn't know there was that much a correlation between the two.  I've already started paying closer attention to the current campaigns and it is clear that all of the candidates put a lot of emphasis on their social media campaigns.
It also surprised me that you can cross promote your social media platforms to gain more exposure.  I only have one social media platform, and haven't tried to sign up for others, so I didn't know about the cross promoting.  I think it is a great idea for businesses and individuals alike.  I also learned quite a bit about this from my NPO research as The Kearney World Theatre does an excellent job of this.
I had an almost negative view of social media at the beginning of class.  I didn't really like social media sites as they don't allow you to interact in the ultimate medium, face to face.  However I do see now that social media is a way to make new acquaintances and interact in a different way.  My view of social media has changed from a negative view to and accepting view.  I won't ever have 15 social media platforms and be on them all day, but I will probably continue to have one or two.
