Layne Rogers - Module 1, Blog 1

This article focused on Web 3.0 with an Ecommerce perspective. The use of Web 3.0 is to capitalize on how the social web network has become larger, and how to personalize the shopping experience the Internet consumers. For example, if someone were to do an Internet search for wedding dresses, advertisements would then pop up that focus on wedding dresses. The article then goes on to predict what Web 3.0 will look like. Hopefully, more shared data could be collected without the violation of privacy. Therefore, security is a key issue with this new form of software.

  1. A lot of people don't mind that when they search for things, targeted advertisements come up. It's mostly just annoying to me but it can cut down the time that it takes to search for something. Privacy is a matter that everyone is worried about when it comes to the web and it will be interesting to see how privacy will be respected while trying to give users the best experience possible.
