This article summarizes the rise of social media to the present day. It also has a short video about the history of social media. After the article discusses the history of social media, in brief detail, it shares eleven different predictions about social media’s future. Most of the predictions sound like science fiction. This reminds me of the “Back to the Future” joke where we should have flying cars and hover boards. Of course we do not have either of these. Although, technology is advancing at a much faster rate now then it did in the 1980s. Most of the predictions involved social media becoming more involved in our daily lives. Some even talked about have technology fused in our clothes to learn our likes and dislikes. This would be similar to a website giving you advertisements based on your search history. Whatever social media will change into the ideas people have will never stop. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for social media.
