I thought this article would be interesting for us since we are all eLearning students and some of us (like me) are probably online degree-seeking students. This article discusses how Web 3.0 will change and mold eLearning as it moves forward. Although I am almost done with my degree I am pretty interested in the changes that Web 3.0 might have on eLearning and how this may benefit or harm students.
I think that universities can take some notes from the business world of how the web is transforming the use of the internet, and creating the "Web 3.0." I think the advancement and idea that you can complete almost all (if not all) of your degree online is impressive singularly. I still think it has a long way to go of figuring out how to maximize the use of it, and enjoyment for most people. Personally, I enjoy being able to do all of my homework wherever I have internet access. However, it takes away the personal aspect of knowing your professor. Not only can students not get to know their professor, but the professor can't get to know their students. With most professors there is an expectation that goes unsaid, but by being around them, hearing them speak, and conversing with them, one can figure it out, and we tailor our writings, '"discussion," and presentations towards that without even knowing it.
