http://www.hellotruth.co.za/technology/10-new-advancements-in-social-media-this-year/
I chose this article because it talks about all the advancements that have been made to social media this year. It's kind of funny to see how all these advancements being made all play off of other social media platforms. For example, Twitter updated their trending topics and live news feed, which is similar to Facebook having news articles pop up on its timelines all over the place. Twitter now let's you keep updated on current events alongside Facebook. It's also crazy to see that now since people are getting more and more creative with their Instagram posts, Instagram is developing separate photo editing apps to work together with the social side of Instagram. Pretty soon all the apps will be the same and you will only need one to do every function!

This article talks about ecommerce, where it has come from,
and how it continues to evolve. According to the article, retail business
strategies are taking advantage of Internet technology. Instead of chasing
technology, retail businesses are now using proactive strategies to stay ahead
of the next Internet breakthrough. Retail businesses are learning about their
customers, their purchasing habits, and ecommerce is becoming personalized for
each individual. Through Web 3.0, retail businesses are also creating
personalized advertisements, and are able to target specific people in order to
boost sales. This article is relevant to
this week’s material, because it talks about how ecommerce is using Web 3.0 to
an advantage.

My first article is titled the 10 Expert Predictions on the Future of Social Media. In these predictions, Simon Kingsnorth gives his ideas on the long road ahead on the future of social media. Some of his predictions state that shopping will become more common on social media, businesses will get smarter on how they are using soil media, and that everything will be mobile. I feel that a lot of his predictions are currently seeing a rise in populatity right now, and will continue to rise in the very near future.

Module 7 - Post 1
For my first article of this module I have chosen to write about eleven predictions for the future of Social Media, according to Mary Wellons. She talks about how much social media has blown up over the past ten years. To put in reference how fast social media has exploded, in just four years if the use of social media continues to grow at the current pace over 2.44 Billion people will be using social media in the world. To me it is crazy how that social media, started as a way to meet friends, exploded into something that controls the way people live.

This article talks about how far social media has came in the past ten years. It has helped presidents get elected and has helped protests and revolutions in other countries, but whats next for social media? One person predicted that social media will be mostly image, video, and voice driven, and less text driven. I think it would be weird to se social media without much text, because that is mostly what Facebook and Twitter are comprised of today.

This idea of a 3.0 coming after 2.0 is really out of left field......what am I talking about no its not! But something that seemed a little out of left field for me was what Web 3.0 is aiming to offer. Virtual shopping malls! Now we are at a place where we are aiming as a society to shop and even "try on" clothes on our computer.
The whole aim of Web 3.0 is to improve off of Web 2.0 but also to dramatically enhance social interactions through virtual chat rooms and virtual shopping malls and virtual ads to remove over spending and improve customer relationships. Web 3.0 aims to deliver more attention at phones and media on phones. It hopes to have intelligence to be able to answer questions based on your current mood and interests, I find that amazing.
